Birthday parties are great fun to photograph especially when they are costume parties....I've never seen so many princesses in one room! Mr Marvel was one of the best magicians I've seen and the children all had a lovely time, the foam machine was a big hit.

Happy Father's Day

Here's my dad, photographed by his dad I think, sometime in the 50s. My dad got me into photography when I was little and he used to take over the bathroom to develop his pictures. I remember my mum rolling her eyes as she saw all the prints dangling over the bath.

My grandad got me my first camera when I was about 9. It was a Kodak Instamatic and it was soon after this I shot my first wedding. It was between the cat and the dog. I'm fairly sure the cat was the bride...

Summer, frames and decisions...Children's Portrait Exhibition in Watford

I've been really busy getting ready for my summer exhibition at the café in the park. I've been fairly organised this year but it's getting pretty near now so I'm trying to make final decisions (and stop changing my mind so much!).

Here's a quick peak at my framing, it's very simple and looks perfect with black and white photographs. Luckily I have a fabulous framer who's very helpful with those last minute rushes!

A studio, two lovely children and the dog...

A good friend of mine asked me to do some studio shots of her children. It's definitely a departure from my usual style of photography but actually it's fun to do something different especially when you have such fab models!

The benefit of using a home studio is that Scout the dog is always available to assist (or fall asleep at my feet!)
